Training: classical piano, violin and voice at St Paul’s Girls’ School (music scholarship and bursary), reaching the finals of Young Pianist of the Year at the age of ten. She is a classically trained dancer, reaching the All England Dance Finals, and has certificates in jazz, tap, national, modern, ballet and a National Diploma in Afro-Caribbean dance and the performing arts from the Brits School. She is a dance instructor/choreographer, directing/ choreographing Ultimate Divas with her company Marina Productions.

Theatre includes: Lorraine in Boogie Nights, Genie of the Ring in Aladdin, vocalist in Caribbean Carnival Extravaganza, onstage swing soprano in Carmen Jones (RFH) and featured classical vocalist in The Gospel According to Broadway (Hackney Empire).

Other work includes: After session singing for EMI Records, Jina fronted Hi-Gate, the band featuring Judge Jules and Paul Yomanda Masterson. Their debut single ‘Pitchin’ entered the UK charts at Number 6 in 2000. Jina fronted the house band Superfly in C4’s Richard Blackwood Show and sung and co-wrote the theme tune, collaborating with writers and producers from Strongsongs and Z Music Publishing Company for international recording artists. She has sung with Mel B, Mel C, Donnel Jones, Lynden David Hall, Mosdef, TQ, LL Cool J, Artful Dodger and Public Enemy. As a violinist she has performed with artists including Mary J Blige, Robert Miles, Spiller, Sonique, Jamiroquai and Jamelia. Jina has toured with Victoria Beckham as a backing vocalist for her solo album, and various Soca bands, such as Red Plastic Bag, Calypso Rose and Super P. She performs in Motown soul groups and currently tours with Soul II Soul. She will release her debut solo album in 2009.
