GARY McAVAY (Producer) is President of Columbia Artists Theatricals (CAT) (www.columbiaartiststheatricals.com), a producing, management and booking company based in New York City and now in its fiftieth season of bringing live performances to audiences around the world. Mr. McAvay’s coproducing credits for CAT include Bring In ‘Da Noise, Bring In ‘Da Funk starring Savion Glover, Sunset Boulevard starring Petula Clark, Fascinating Rhythm, the Royal National Theatre touring production of Carousel, Jelly’s Last Jam, Born Yesterday, Starlight Express, and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. He has represented over one hundred national tours including Annie, Cats, Chicago, Copenhagen, Elaine Stritch At Liberty, Evita, Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, M. Butterfly, Master Class, Ragtime, Stomp, Tap Dogs and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Mr. McAvay holds a BFA from Denison University and an MFA from Brooklyn College. He is a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre and the League of American Theatres and Producers, and is a recipient of the League’s Lifetime Achievement in Touring Broadway Award.
